Corpus Christi Procession 2015

On June 7, we participated in our parish's Corpus Christi procession. I am so thankful for Fr. Saguto and all that he has done in founding our parish. Towards the end of the video, you will be able to see how the Latin Mass is flourishing in our area (this doesn't include all of the families, as some went to the earlier Mass). I'm also grateful to my husband for taking this video. Ad majorem Dei gloriam!

Spring Violin Recital

Last night, Bernadette and Theresa participated in their spring violin recital.

Bernadette played "Concertino in A Minor, Opus 14" by Leo Portnoff.

Theresa played "Swallowtail Jig", followed by J.S. Bach's "Minuet No. 3".

The recital ended with all of the students playing "John Ryan's Polka". This was the first time that they all played the piece together. Watching the video, I thought that it actually sounded good.

God Alone Sufficeth

Sometimes God lets us fall to our knees in order to remind us that we can do nothing without Him. It is only by embracing God's will that we can succeed, that we can become great saints.

The Legend of the Ladybug

Several years ago, my friend, Mary L., shared this legend with me:

"The Legend of the Ladybug"

In Europe, during the Middle Ages, swarms of insects were destroying the crops. The farmers prayed to the Blessed Virgin Mary for help. Shortly thereafter, the Ladybugs came, devouring the plant-destroying insects and saving the crops! The farmers called these beautiful insects "The Beetles of Our Lady". Over time, they became known as "Lady Beetles", in Germany as "Marienkäfer" (Mary Beetles), and in America as "Ladybugs". The red wings were said to represent the Virgin's cloak and the black spots were symbolic of both her joys and her sorrows.

I have liked ladybugs even more since hearing this story. So I was happy to learn on Saturday that Lilla Rose's June 2015 Flexi of the Month is a ladybug. I am looking forward to receiving the ladybug clip that I ordered for one of my daughters.
