Discerning Curriculum for 2008-2009

Catherine: Continue to use Seton (fully enrolled)

Religion: Seton's Religion 3 FYC and St. Joseph First Communion Catechism (review), plus daily Mass, hands-on projects, and celebrating feasts throughout the liturgical year
Math: Calculadders and Math 3 FYC
Language Arts: English 3 FYC, Stories with a View, Handwriting 3 FYC, and reading a lot of books
Phonics: Probably Writing Road to Reading and Starting a Spelling Notebook
Poetry: The Harp and Laurel Wreath
Science: Behold and See
History: The Catholic Faith Comes to the Americas and a lot of books to supplement. Remember to look at Elizabeth's Along the American History Trail.
Geography: Debating between MODG 3rd Grade plans and CHC's Tour a Country (included in CHC 3rd Grade lesson plans)
Vocabulary (Latin and Greek): English from the Roots Up flashcards
Art: Still praying
Music: Listen to classical music, plus?

Family: Continue to pray the Rosary each night, read the Bible on Saturday and Sunday nights, and continue evening read alouds Monday through Friday

    I am still struggling with mine. This past year was so challenging, that I am not quite sure which direction to go with a couple subjects.

    I have decided to try RC History this year, which I am very excited about. Especially since we can all do it together! :)
